Shrewsbury & District Dog Training & Agility Club

2009.

The preparations for next years show are already well under way. With Steph Thomas stepping down and taking a well earned rest the Show Secretary for this year is Steph Thomas, who is off to a flying start with the schedule part way finished.

2007.

Well Done Us.

This year at Shrewsbury show we held host to a grand total of 9 rings, making this year easily the biggest show we have ever had. And it was brilliant, everything ran perfectly, except when the tannoy's battery ran flat on Sunday. Unfortunately there are no photos of the show this year as everybody was working non stop for the entire weekend with no time for pictures. There was a small amount of excitement Saturday night when several members reported seeing a UFO, however it is suspected that the few members that saw it had been on the bottle and may not have been 100% sober, in contrast to the Sunday night show over party when precisely 0% of the members present were anywhere near sober! We would like to say thank you to everybody who helped at our show, especially our own members who worked all day both days, with many coming down after work on Thursday and Friday as well as helping to pack up on Monday, the show would have fallen apart without you. Also we would like to say thank you to Richard, Rob and Steph for being show managers and show sectary respectively, again the show wouldn't have even got started without your efforts, well done, give yourselves a pat on the back and relax, until next year.

On behalf off all our members, A huge thank you to Steph who I know had many sleepless nights bringing together one of the first shows using the grade system.

Finally ahead of the game as ever, we are already looking for next years show committee. If anybody thinks that they fit the bill talk to Steph or another of the committee.

2006.

This year's show was the largest this club has ever organised. About 250 camping units, over 2000 dogs and many hundreds of agility people made the West Midland Showground their home from Friday until Sunday, some even until Monday.

These numbers were swollen each day by a large number of day visitors. Feedback from the agility community has been excellent and we look forward to their return in 2007.

As is usual, when running your own show it's difficult to get your best out of either yourself or your dog so the club did not return any spectacular results. However a number of good clear rounds were recorded. Particular congratulations to Biddy and Leslie whose dogs recorded clear rounds in their first show.
